Aromatherapy On-The-Go

Our modern culture is moving at a faster pace than ever before. Filling up the day with obligations, appointments, jobs, families, etc. seems to be an expected element of modern life. The to-do list just keeps growing and we are left with a challenge of finding time for self care. I would like to offer some tips for quick and effective aromatherapy treatments to help eliminate the stress and chaos of our everyday hustle and bustle.

Ideally everyone could schedule ourselves an hour long aromatherapy massage every week. This regular time of relaxation, meditation, and therapeutic touch would surely improve everyone's stress levels and day to day life. Unfortunately many of us cannot afford such a luxury and scheduling time to relax is almost impossible some days. I recommend investing in a few aromatherapy products that will help relieve stress as well as providing fast and easy ways to relax.

I consider the best "grab and go" aromatherapy product to be a personal aromatherapy roller. These are most often 10 ml glass bottles with a rollerball top that you can take anywhere. My favorite rollers are a base of Jojoba oil with pure and genuine essential oils diluted between 5% - 10%.
I keep a couple on my desk and I use them every day. Depending on the oils used, they can help with headaches, stress, anxiety, focus, energy, etc.

I like to simply roll a bit onto my wrists and lightly massage the oil blend into my skin.
The possibilities are endless here and I am happy to offer advice to anyone wanting to formulate a custom blend...but here are some of my favorite pre-formulated rollers from Time Laboratories.

Composure Synergy
Geranium, Ylang Ylang, and Patchouli
This blend is great for balancing hormones and easing anxiety while providing a sense of grounding.

Courage Synergy
Spruce, Ho Leaf, Frankincense, and Blue Tansy
I love this blend for men because of the woodsy fragrance but everyone can benefit from its fortifying action. Frankincense can slow and deepen your breathing. Blue Tansy provides a calming peace of mind while the Spruce will invigorate your mind and body.
Grapefruit, Rosemary, and Peppermint
This blend is a best seller and can help with physical and mental fatigue.
These oils will all increase circulation as well as stimulate your brain function. I suggest rolling some onto the bottom of your feet each morning to add a spring to your step. This blend also works great as a study aid! I would advise against using this blend too late in the evening because it will keep you awake.
Euphoria Synergy
Clary Sage, Ho Leaf, Cedarwood, Patchouli
If you are looking for a pleasurably intoxicating experience I recommend this blend. These oils combine to be a useful blend for relaxation and meditation. This is also a great aphrodisiac blend and would be an ideal choice for an intimate massage.

Lavender and Blue Chamomile
With a name like Nite-Cap it is no surprise this personal roller is perfect for your bedside table. Lavender and Chamomile are both sedative oils and will help you fall asleep while easing anxiety and stress. I have also recommended this blend for inflamed and irritated skin issues like sunburns, insect bites, etc.

Peppermint, Juniper, Cajeput, Eucalyptus
Pain relief is the purpose of this blend. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of these essential oils work synergistically to provide relief for minor aches and pains. I recommend it at the first sign of a headache, rubbed onto the temples or around the ears and down the neck. Joint and muscle pain can also be relieved and Athletes will love this blend after an intense workout.

Melissa, Frankincense, Myrrh, Rose and Sandalwood
I call this blend a hug in a bottle because it promotes positive energy in the mind and spirit. A pre-blended product using precious oils is an excellent and affordable way to harness their amazing qualities without investing hundreds of dollars on a full bottle of undiluted essential oil. This blend is ideal for your office desk after a stressful meeting or phone call and makes a great gift for anyone dealing with grief or anxiety.
