Facing the world: Skin First
Skin care can sometimes feel overwhelming. Like many organs
in our body, our skin works hard to regulate itself to continue functioning
properly, but our skin is also an organ in our body that is consistently
exposed to outside elements. The natural aging process takes an understandable
toll on our skins elasticity and glow but other factors are also providing a
seemingly constant bombardment of depletion. Sun exposure, pollution, and
stress are just a few things that may change the quality and function of our
skin.
The pressure to look young and vibrant in a modern world doesn’t help matters when you find yourself showing natural and normal signs of aging and stress. But good skincare is not just a vanity thing. Our skin helps us by removing toxins, keeping us cool, and protecting our intricate inner biology which means taking good care of your skin is important for holistic wellness.
Facial skin likely gets the most stress in our lifetime
while it is also one of the primary factors of our visual identities. From our
first pimple in adolescence to the wrinkles we honorably show as we age a good
skin care regime will arm us with the confidence of knowing we can “face”
anything in life with healthy skin.
So what are some natural ways to help support your skin?
So what are some natural ways to help support your skin?
Rosehip seed oil is an excellent choice for people who’s skin has been through significant stress. The essential fatty acids found in cold-pressed rosehip seed oil are excellent in supporting healthy skin as they support your skin on a cellular level. Scarring, sun damage, and general aging can all be treated using rosehip seed oil which contains 30% to 40% gamma linoleic acid.
A facial oil with Rosehip seed oil is an easy way to get immediate access to these benefits.
Adding an essential oil, such as Palmarosa which stimulates cellular regeneration, can amplify the benefits of Rosehip seed oil. I recommend adding some Jojoba oil as well because it is a great source of tocopherols and has a strong resemblance to our skins own sebum. When blending essential oils into facial oils it is wise to keep low dilutions (around 1%) because essential oils are very strong and could easily cause overstimulation and irritation to the eyes as wells as your olfactory sense. Check out this easy and effective recipe for a facial oil that will help heal and protect your skin.

DIY is not for everyone. Looking for pre-blended products
that contain rosehip seed without adding any harsh or synthetic ingredients
will also be a good choice. The Anti-Wrinkle Crème at Time Laboratories
contains Rosehip seed oil along with Neroli, Calendula, tocopherol, and other
natural ingredients. The high levels of peptides help deliver this wrinkle and
line reducing formula, enabling your skin to become increasingly more youthful
and rested. Owing to their molecular size, peptides easily penetrate the skin
to promote the production of collagen and elastin while hastening the repair
and healing of skin tissue. Keeping the skin soft, supple, and relaxed, assists
the prevention and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Peptides also
demonstrate uniquely accumulative effects.
